Thermarest Trail Scout
A good starter pad, this self-inflating 1" thick mattress has a 3.1 R-value which is appropriate for most sleepers for three season camping. It is durable, lightweight and comfortable and packs down fairly small into the included stuff sack. The WingLock valve features one-way inflation and 3 times the airflow of the classic Thermarest valve, with super quick deflation. Open the valve, let the foam insided the pad expand and suck air in the valve, and top it off with a few breaths to get the firmness you want.
