Petzl Nao+

One of the newest generation of intelligent headlamps, the Nao+ is rechargeable, programmable and pairs with your smartphone via the MyPetzl app.  It features Reactive Lighting so the headlamp automatically adapts its intensity to your needs: if you are running down the trail and then look at your map, the light will dim so you don't blind yourself.  Look up again, and it regains its original intensity.  You can customize the beam pattern, burn time and brightness on your phone, check your battery life, and program your light to burn with a constant light over a certain amount of time.  In an emergency you can type a message on your phone and it will convert it into a morse code signal that your headlamp will generate.  The battery pack at the back has a flashing red light indicator, and there is an additional top strap across the head if you need extra security.  This is one very cool headlamp.
