Lifestraw Water Filter
Developed by a Swiss based company that specializes in disease control for developing countries, Lifestraw has been used by United Nations personnel in developing countries since 2005 and only recently came to North America. Since its inception it has won multiple awards, and Eartheasy uses a good portion of its profits to donate Lifestraws to schools in Africa.
The Lifestraw filters to 0.2 microns in size, which removes virtually all bacteria (such as E-Coli) and protozoa (such as Giardia and Cryptosporidium) (99.9%) from contaminated water. (Note: chemicals and viruses will not be removed.) It also reduces turbidity.
Simply insert one end of the Lifestraw in water and suck out the other end - it has a high flow rate. You can use it, then store it indefinitely - it's shelf life never expires. It doesn't use chemicals or batteries and is really easy to clean.
Comes with lanyard and caps for mouth and end piece.
